Gary Kessler now lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, following years of U.S. embassy service in East Asia and the Mediterranean with the U.S. government’s foreign media monitoring news agency, for which he served as Managing Editor. He also served as entertainment columnist for four national-level foreign newspapers and was a consultant for such movie productions as The Deerhunter, The Killing Fields, and Good Morning Vietnam. Gary currently is a freelance book editor, working almost exclusively for traditional book publishers. His short story/essay collection, On the Downtown Mall, was launched at the March 2002 Virginia Festival of the Book. New Concepts Publishers released an e-novel thriller, Laughter Down the Mountain, in 2001, and the same publisher released a sequel, Retired with Prejudice, in August 2002. In 2002, he conducted a worldwide, online editorial workshop for the WritersNet writers’ Web site (http://www.writers.net), which resulted in a two-volume WritersNet Anthology of Prose, released in October 2002. Finding Go! Matching Questions and Resources in Getting Published, coauthored with Carol Kluz, was released by Winterwolf Publishers in 2004, and Gary coauthored a Bible study, (Re)Tell Me the Stories, with his minister sister, Carole Stockberger, which was released by Outskirts Press in 2006. Carol Kluz: Author of epic fantasy and collaborating author of suspense, Carol Kluz is also known for assisting authors with Web marketing and building Web sites. She has published poetry, short stories, and novels. The mother of five adult children uses her life experiences in developing the in-depth characters in her writing. She often uses the mountainous terrain in her home state of Wyoming to define scenes in her books. She served in the U.S. Navy in personnel and worked as a proofreader for National Press; as a Web publicist representing Clifford Stevens, M. M. Lehman, and Davey Lee George; and as a freelance editor. Besides writing her fantasy series, she is part of the suspense writing team of Carol Randy.
